Woodridge Animal Hospital
I was going to use the next few posts to introduce Tim, Nahil and myself, but decided to start with our pets instead. It seemed appropriate, since pets are the reason we're here afterall.
On Sunday, we celebrated "Hope's" first birthday. She is a European Cream Golden Retriever. She is a sweet soul who is always looking for fun and friends.
How do we celebrate our dog's birthdays? We hiked 9 miles at Waterfall Glen and they shared a frosty paw.
On April 21st, Tim and I celebrated our sixth year at Woodridge Animal Hospital. We feel so fortunate to work with such a fantastic group of people and their companions.
A Little About Our History: ~Warning: I just reread this blog and realize it may seem too good to be true. We often feel like it is too. I write this blog with utmost sincerity. We are so thankful for the opportunity to care for all of our patients and the relationships we've built.~
In 2011, after over 11 years at our respective hospitals (Palatine for me and Lombard for Tim), we made the decision to take over the hospital Dr. Macchia opened in 1982. While it was scary to start over and leave behind relationships we had built over the years, Dr. Macchia and the existing clients of Woodridge Animal Hospital were so welcoming. It's truly a testiment to what a fantastic practice Dr. Macchia built -to have clients who had been with him since his opening almost 30 years earlier and so many others with him for many years. We are so happy that they decided to stay with us and trust us with the care of their companions. We have really enjoyed getting to know them and their four-legged friends.
A few months after we left our hospitals, we realized with the help of the internet, clients from our previous animal hospitals were finding us and willing to travel to allow us to continue to care for their pets. Last year, two additional clients from my previous hospital and one more from Tim's hospital found us! This has been such a happy surprise for us over the last 6 years. We are so honored that they are willing to travel such a distance to see us and after seeing them for many years before coming to Woodridge, can't help but feel like we're seeing a long time friend for a visit when they come.
And of course, we've met so many new clients and new patients over the last 6 years... I hesitate to say new because while they may not have been to Woodrige Animal Hospital before or seen either Tim or I at our previous animal hospitals, we often we feel like we've known them much longer than we actually have, sometimes after only a visit or two.
I'm sure it's no surprise to see me write at this point that...we are so happy to have made the choice to come to Woodridge Animal Hospital. Tim and I enjoy working together and love having our dogs with us every day at work. We truly love what we do and who we do it for- both people and pets. It's been a great 6 years and we're looking forward to many more. Thank you to everyone who has helped make this happen.
In this blog in the future, I plan to share what's going on at the hospital, give you a little behind the scenes look at what we do and who we are, and offer some (hopefully) helpful information about your pet's healthcare.
