In a plastic bucket, mix well the following ingredients:
1 quart of 3% hydrogen peroxide 1/4 cup of baking soda 1 to 2 teaspoons dawn nonanti-bacterial dish soap- the blue one
Do not bathe your pet first. Work the above solution deep into the fur of affected areas. Leave the solution on for 5 minutes and rinse thoroughly. Repeat if necessary.
Keep this solution out of the eyes.
Wear latex gloves when applying to your pet.
Pour the remaining solution down the drain with running water
NEVER store mixed solution in any container. Pressure will build up within the container.
Head and Shoulders shampoo (classic clean-no conditioner)
While I haven't tried this one first hand, one of my clients highly recommends it. I like the idea of using it at least on the head and face instead of the potentially more caustic OPTION 1.
